Dr. Brooks earned his bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Missouri in 1969 and his doctor of podiatric medicine from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 1974. He completed his residency training at Lindell Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri and has been a staff member of Washington University School of Medicine since 1976. He has also severed as adjunct faculty member of six Podiatric Colleges. Dr. Jeffrey Brooks currently serves as the Chief of Foot and Ankle Surgery at the Mineral Area Hospital Podiatric Residency Program and resides in St. Louis, Missouri. In addition, he is president of the Midwest Podiatry and Associates, LLC. He serves as a podiatric consultant to the foot healthcare division of Johnson & Johnson Professional, Inc., and to Payless ShoeSource. In 1999, Dr. Brooks founded "From the Heart and to the Sole" - an organization providing shoes to the underprivileged and disaster relief areas. He also designed the patented technology found in SmartFit™ and many other branded shoes of Payless ShoeSource, Inc. Dr. Brooks is a member of the Missouri and the American Podiatry Medical Associations. He is a diplomate with the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics. Dr. Brooks is also a fellow of the American College of Foot Orthopedics and the American College of Foot Surgeons, and served 2 terms as President of the American College of Foot Orthopedists, Midwest Division. Dr. Brooks has written for professional journals and has lectured throughout the world on a variety of podiatry topics.



Dr. Ronald Hugar Back to top

 

Dr. Ronald W. Hugar is a 1983 graduate of the Dr. William M Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. Upon successful completion of his surgical residency programs, he joined his father in the practice of podiatric medicine and corrective foot surgery in the Chicago area suburb of Elmwood Park, Illinois. Also, at this time, he received medical staff appointments to Rush Oak Park, Loretto, and Gottlieb Hospitals, where he has served on many committees including Ambulatory Services, Medical Records, Credentials, Bylaws, and Residency Training. He has also served as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Podiatry Sections at these institutions. Professionally, Dr. Hugar is an active member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, Illinois Podiatric Medical Association, and a Fellow in the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons. He is past president of Division Six ACFAS and currently Midwest division officer, national representative, and annual seminar scientific chairman. He is Board Certified in foot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is a long time member of the American Academy of LASER Surgery, International Society of Musculoskeletal Shockwave Therapy, and American Academy of Podiatric Practice Management. He currently serves on the Medical Advisory Committee and is Chief of Podiatry Staff at Elmwood Park Sameday Surgery Center now managed by United Surgical Partners International. Perhaps Dr. Hugar is best known for his contributions in Podiatric Medical Education and Practice Management. Dr. Hugar's other teaching appointments include adjunct clinical professor positions at the Illinois, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Iowa, and Florida colleges of Podiatric Medicine.



Dr. David Freedman Back to top

 

A resident of Olney, MD, Dr. David Freedman is married and has three children. He is board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and a Certified Wound Specialist. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Syracuse University and then his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine (formerly the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine). His residency in Podiatric Surgery was performed at Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton, NJ followed by private practice for past 21 years in Silver Spring, Maryland. He is the current President of the Maryland State Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners where he has been a member of the board appointed initially by the governor in 2003 and reappointed by the governor in 2007, a coding committee member of the American Podiatric Medical Association since 2004, and a nationally recognized coding expert.



Dr. Michael G. Fine Back to top

 

Dr. Fine graduated in 1977 from Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. He is a Diplomat, National Board of Podiatry Examiners. He was on the Council of Podiatry Education and the American Board of Podiatric Surgery at the American Podiatry Association Approved Residency Program. Dr. Fine is an active member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Virginia Podiatric Medical Association and Past President of the Northern Virginia Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Fine is a consultant at the following facilities: Woodland Hills Retirement Center, the Cherrydale Health Care Center and Brighton Gardens in Arlington, VA. Dr. Fine has been a guest lecturer. He is actively involved in community service for the March of Dimes and provides free screening to a number of organizations.



Dr. Harry John Visser Back to top

 

Dr. Visser is a 1978 graduate of Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio.  In 1981 he successfully completed his residency training at Lindell Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.  Dr. Visser is a Diplomate, American Board of Podiatric Surgery, Diplomate, American Board of Podiatric Medicine and Orthopedics, Fellow, American College of Foot Orthopedists and a Fellow, American College of Foot Surgeons.  Currently, Dr. Visser is an Associate Adjunctive Clinical Professor at Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, Director, Residency Training Program in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center and Associate Clinical Academic Professor, DePaul Medical Center Residency Training Program.  Dr. Visser is a national speaker.  He has lectured extensively on a variety of podiatric conditions throughout the United States and is well published in several podiatric conditions.



Dr. Vinod Podichetty Back to top

 

Dr.Podichetty is the director of research & education in the department of Medical, Intervention and Surgical Spine at the Cleveland Clinic Florida. He holds a MD and MS with focus of research on clinical outcomes, back pain management and innovation in conservative and operative care for spinal conditions. He is also the co-director for the spine fellowship program and oversees the spine outcomes and data institute. He has published 32 papers, presented over 25 abstracts at various national and international professional societies authoring several textbook chapters and monographs. He serves as a member of North American Spine Society, American Medical Writers Association and the Association of Clinical Research Professionals. He is well respected for his accomplishments and is an invited scientific peer reviewer for several high impact journals along with serving as associate editor for the Journal of Allied Health Sciences & Practice. He is also a distinguished member of the Scientific Review Committee for the Society for Internet in Medicine.



Dr. Howard L. Schultheiss Jr. Back to top

 

Dr. Schultheiss graduated from Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine, Philadelphia, PA in 1990 and completed a one year Rotating Podiatric Residency at Wilmington Veterans Administration Medical Center in Wilmington, DE in 1991. Dr. Schultheiss is a Diplomat, American Board of Lower Extremity Surgery and a Fellow, American Professional Wound Care Association. He is board certified in Wound Care by the Counsel of Medical Education and Testing. Dr. Schultheiss is specialized in chronic wound care, sports medicine, diabetic foot care, and geriatric foot care; surgical and orthopedic treatment of foot ailments with a "conservative first" approach; diagnostic ultrasound, endoscopic foot surgery, advanced wound care techniques and certified Ambulatory Surgical Center w/ diabetic foot wound and limb preservation. Dr. Schultheiss is affiliated with several professional societies including: American Board of Lower Extremity Surgeons, Maryland Podiatric Medical Association, American Podiatric Medical Association, American Professional Wound Care Association, International Wound Bed Preparation Advisory Board, Maryland Ambulatory Care Association and Global Wound Academy.



Dr. Kendrick Whitney Back to top

 

Currently Dr. Whitney is an associate professor in the Department of Podiatric Medicine and Orthopedics at the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine with over 20 years of teaching and clinical experience at the school. In addition to classroom instruction provided at the school, he lectures at numerous national and international seminars and symposia on biomechanical applications and orthosis realignment therapies. Dr. Whitney has been actively involved with grant funded and student directed research projects leading to improved patient outcomes with patient evaluation and therapeutic re-alignment and off-loading techniques. His research has also led to several abstracts and publications in peer reviewed journals and textbooks. Dr. Whitney has contributed chapters to several leading medical publications in medicine and podiatry, including the 2nd edition of the Home Edition of the Merck Manual and 3rd editions of the Home and Professional editions of the Merck Manual. He has submitted a chapter for the highly anticipated Biomechanics; Applied Theory and Application (pending publication), with noted national and international leaders in biomechanics. Dr. Whitney serves as director for the Pathomechanics and Pedorthics Pre-Certification courses at the school. Additionally, he is an adjunct faculty member of the Barcelona school of Podiatry in Spain where he provides post graduate education on advanced biomechanical concepts each summer.



Dr. Larry Mark Newman Back to top

 

Dr. Newman graduated from Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, Cleveland, OH in 1974 and completed his post graduate residencies at Delaware Valley Hospital, Bristol, PA in 1975 and the Podiatry Hospital of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA in 1976. Dr. Newman is a Diplomate, American Board of Podiatric Surgery and a Diplomate, American Board of Quality Assurance & Utilization Review Physicians Health Care Quality and Management. Currently, Dr. Newman is the Assistant Dean and Medical Director of Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, Foot & Ankle Institute. Additionally, he is the Assistant Professor, Department of Podiatric Medicine and Orthopedics with surgical privileges also at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine and Acting Medical Director Ambulatory Surgical Center. Dr. Newman is affiliated with several professional organizations including: American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), Pennsylvania Podiatric Medical Association (PPMA), PPMA Western Division, PPMA Philadelphia Division, Fellow, American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons and numerous other professional organizations. Dr. Newman is well published in many podiatric conditions.
